Data collection and usage
PhotoGov is a browser-based tool: photos you upload are processed locally on your own device with the Canvas API and are never transmitted to our servers. We only process the minimum data needed to operate the service — such as your selected country, your cookie-consent choice and, if you contact us, the details you provide in the contact form.
Data protection principles
We process data lawfully, fairly and transparently; for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes only; with data minimization; keeping it accurate and up to date; storing it no longer than necessary; and with appropriate security against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage.
Information disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may disclose information only to comply with a legal obligation or court order, to protect the rights, property or safety of our users and our service, or in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to the same confidentiality obligations stated in this policy.
Security measures
We have implemented suitable technical and organizational measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access, modification, disclosure or destruction. These include encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), access limited to authorized personnel, and secure storage.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to be informed, to access, to rectify, to erasure (the 'right to be forgotten'), to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing, and to not be subject to automated decision-making. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
Photos stay on your device
All image processing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics to understand usage. No personally identifiable information is collected from your photos.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a minimal cookie to remember your preferences (such as country and cookie consent). See our Cookie Policy.
Policy modifications
We may update this policy at any time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised 'Last updated' date, and continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Governing law
This policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union.
Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that our processing of your personal data violates applicable laws, particularly the GDPR.
International data transfers
Because photos are processed locally in your browser, we do not transfer your images outside your device. Where any personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an adequate level of protection as required by the GDPR.
Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws, and we securely destroy or anonymize data that is no longer needed.
Children's privacy
The service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 and will promptly delete such data if we become aware of it.
Third-party links
Our website may contain links to other websites that we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content, privacy policies or practices, and we advise you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
